Statement of Faith

THE BIBLE. The Bible consists of the Old and New Testaments that were written under the inspiration of God. It’s without error in its original writings and complete in its revelation of His will for the salvation of humanity. It is sufficient, authoritative and has the final say for all saving knowledge, faith and obedience.

GOD. There is one God who is immortal and eternal. God reveals Himself to us in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each has distinct personal attributes and roles, but without division of nature, essence, or being. He is the Creator of all things and sovereign over all His creations. God alone is worthy of the highest love, praise, reverence, and obedience from all His creations.

MANKIND. God originally created human beings, male and female, in His own image, free from sin. God created them equal in worth and value. As human beings were created in His image, human life is sacred from conception to the end of its life. This is why they must be treated with love, dignity and respect.

THE FALL OF MANKIND. Though human beings were initially created free from sin, they lost their original holiness and righteousness when Adam and Eve sinned against God by disobeying God’s command. Now, all human beings are corrupted in nature of their being and under God’s condemnation that leads to death penalty: everlasting punishment. Only the righteous shall go into everlasting life, therefore the greatest need of all human beings are to be restored by God and reconciled to Him. This restoration can only be done through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Genesis 3:6–19; Romans 1:18; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12–14; 1 Thessalonians 1:10

JESUS CHRIST. Jesus Christ is the only and divine Mediator between God and mankind. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life as He perfectly obeyed His heavenly Father. He died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended into Heaven. By His incarnation, life, death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus Christ represented and substitute humanity before God. Through what He has done, we can regain the righteousness of God as by His death on the cross He paid the full penalty of our sins, bringing everlasting life to all His people. Therefore we can be reconciled to God if we repent (humbling ourselves in godly sorrow for our sins) of our sins and believe, putting our trust in Jesus Christ.

JUSTIFICATION

We believe that Christ, by His obedience and death, fully discharged the debt of all those who are justified. By His sacrifice, He bore in our stead the punishment due us for our sins, making a proper, real, and full satisfaction to God’s justice on our behalf. By His perfect obedience He satisfied the just demands of God on our behalf, since by faith alone that perfect obedience is credited to all who trust in Christ alone for their acceptance with God. Since Christ was given by the Father for us, and His obedience and punishment were accepted in place of our own, freely and not for anything in us, this justification is solely of free grace, in order that both the exact justice and the rich grace of God might be glorified in the justification of sinners. We believe that a zeal for personal and public obedience flows from this free justification.
