The Bible

“The Fact that there are so many versions proves that the Bible has mistakes. Which one is right?”

Skeptics often ask which Bible is right, and point to the fact that there are many versions. The implication is that each one is different, and therefore they have no credibility. How can they if they differ? They are right about the number of versions—there are thousands. There are Chinese versions for Chinese speakers, Russian versions the Russian people, Arabic versions, Korean versions, and so on. There are translations in modern English and in very old English. There are paraphrases, revised versions, large print, pocket size, Greek and Hebrew versions, and even an Amplified version.

In fact, the Bible is the most translated book in the world, with at least some portion of it available in over 2,400 languages, spoken by 98 percent of the world’s population. All of these have been written so that people of any nation or culture can have access to and understand the Word of God. However, each translation is based on the original biblical texts. Due to the Dead Sea Scrolls, we can know that these texts are reliable.

“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”Proverbs 30:5
